Criticize Israel and you would be condemned, you might be called anti-Semitic and you would be described a Jew hater. Promote Hitler's Mien Kemp and you would be called a Nazi, a holocaust sympathisers and a reactionary. Question US aid to Israel and you might lose elections if you happen to be a congressman or even a councilor. Yet, when you draw Prophet Muhammad in an offensive manner, you would be hailed as a champion of free speech and you would be told that it is not about Prophet Muhammad, but about the inalienable right of every human beings to exercise free speech. He transferred $23,000 to al Qaeda whom he had pledged allegiance in 2008. He deceived his customers in auto sales. He manipulated bank accounts to send money to groups he wanted to spread terror. Michelle and I would like to send our best wishes to all those performing Hajj this year, and to Muslims in America and around the world who are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha. The rituals of Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha both serve as reminders of the shared Abrahamic roots of three of the world's major religions.
During Hajj, the world's largest and most diverse gathering, three million Muslims from all walks of life - including thousands of American Muslims - will stand in prayer on Mount Arafat. The following day, Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha and distribute food to the less fortunate to commemorate Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son out of obedience to God.
This year, I am pleased that the Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with the Saudi Health Ministry to prevent and limit the spread of H1N1 during Hajj. Cooperating on combating H1N1 is one of the ways we are implementing my administration's commitment to partnership in areas of mutual interest.
On behalf of the American people, we would like to extend our greetings during this Hajj season - Eid Mubarak.

The report coming out of Texas is horrific. Eleven of our finest soldiers were killed by another soldier, Major Malik Nadal Hasan who himself got wounded. His name and nationality and religion would now come into play. Islam would be blamed. Muslims would described unpatriotic and demands would be made to lock Muslims up or strip them off their nationality. What Hasan is accused of doing is horrible and every US citizen must condemn his action. There is no justification for what happened. His family tells America that he was upset for being deployed to Iraq. Others are saying that he was sympathetic to suicide bombers. These are speculative statements. We will wait for the official words about the motives and reasons behind this rampage. But we have no sympathy with the shooter. We consider his action anti-human, anti-God.
However, let us be cautious in relating this event to a faith or a community as it would impact not only our analysis and interest but would also damage community relations in the country. Nadal was lunatic and he should be described as such. It does not matter what his faith is or what his nationality is. What mattered is that he acted criminally and abused the trust placed in him. We must identify him as a criminal and no more or no less than that. At this hour of shock and sadness, we all pray for those soldiers who were killed by a lone mad man. We all pray for those whose families whose loved ones lost their lives. We all pray for everyone who is injured and who suffered mental shock. We Americans are together in our fight against elements who use violence to show their anger. we reject violence in every shape and form. Let us work together for a better world where criminals like Nadal are no longer allowed to assert their guns.
